Coyotes Plan to Scavenge the Jets

Expect the Phoenix Coyotes to tear up the Jets, Phoenix beat the tough Chicago Blackhawks at home 4-1 Tuesday,  same night the Senators gave the Jet at home ego's a bruising with a 6-4 win.

The former Winnipeg Jets (Coyotes) play the new Jets, after Thursday, fans will wish the deal for Coyotes had materialized instead of the Thrashers as the Jets will continue to play defenceless hockey and lose again.

Jets OK with Losing!

Leading 4-3 with 10:25 left in the game, the Jets lost the game by giving up an even strenght Ottawa goal to tie the game and then an Ottawa power play goal at the 13:45 mark of the third period giving the Senators the win.

Jets #29 Johnny Oduya has this to say post game via the Winnipeg Free Press, "We played pretty good tonight," said Jets defenceman Johnny Oduya, who was sitting in the penalty box when Smith was allowed to cruise into the slot and fire the winner past Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec. "But if we don’t close it down, they’re good enough to come back and they did."

If losing the lead in the third period is playing pretty good, then Jets  chances of getting to a playoff spot are slim to none.

Andrew Ladd was a -4 for the game, Stuart, Wellwood and Andropov at -2.

The Toronto Sun calls it a "Squandered Opportunity", can't agree more.

Coach Noel in the Winnipeg Free Press is dissappointed  "To tell you I'm disappointed would be putting it mildly," began Noel. "I didn't think we played very intelligently. We didn't play, certainly, with our minds. We had some energy but I thought it was a poor game in a lot of areas.

Jets Need Win Against the Senators

The Ottawa Senators roll into town on Tuesday on the start of a three game road trip. The Jets are home after a three game road trip that saw the Jets go 1-1-1, not bad, not great but leave the Jets   three points out of a playoff spot and also trail the Senators by two points.  The Jets begin a home stand with five games before heading out on the road for a single game. Figure the Jets to win 4 out of the 5 home games.  Game time at 7:30pm on TSN Jets!

Jets Out of Fuel Against the Bruins, lose 4-2

Winnipeg playing their third road game in four nights ran out of gas against the Stanley Cup Champs the Boston Bruins. The Jets shot catapulted out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Evander Kane and Dustin Byfuglien before mistakes caused by fatigue and penalties let the Bruins in the game.
Ondrej Pavelec kept the jets in the game with some great saves and the Jets almost tied the game late in the third period when Bruins goalie Tim Thomas made a game saving save on Evander Kane.

Next game is at home, Tuesday November 29th when the Ottawa Senators come to town!

Jets Verses Bruins

The Winnipeg Jets face the Stanley Cup Champs Boston Bruins in a Saturday Night match.
The Jets are coming off a win at Carolina Friday. The Bruins after winning 10 in a row took a shootout overtime loss in Detroit on Friday. Expect Ondrej Pavelec to start in goal for the Jets, Jets hope to have Ron Hainsey back in the lineup. The Jets will have to bring their A game tonight against the defending champs, Mark Stuart will have to stop backing in so deep on rushes, Alexander Burmistrov has to play hard, Wheeler has to score and be more physical, game time 6pm CST on CBC!

Kane Scores - Jets Win!

When Evander Kane scores, the Jets win, go figure, the kid has a blistering wrist shot, he rang his goal off the post to start the scoring against the Hurricanes, a barn door could not have stopped that goal. Kane leads the Jets in goals!

Jets Captain Andrew Ladd scored his 100th career goal and the game winner against his former team. In 2004 the Hurricanes exchanged draft picks with the Columbus Blue Jackets so they could pick up Ladd,  4th overall, but in 2008 ended up trading Ladd to Chicago at the  trade deadline for Tuomo Ruutu
Since that trade Ladd has 171 points, and a Stanley Cup ring with Chicago and Ruutu has 167 points. Figure was Ladd pumped playing against his former team, you bet, look at his smile on the winning goal!

Chris Mason got the start in goal for the Jet's, Mason was solid for the Jets considering he has not started in goal in a month due to a groin injury and then Ondrej Pavelec stellar play, good to see Mason get the win and this will push Pavelec to have an outstanding game Saturday against the Boston Bruins.

Jets Need to Win Against the Hurricanes

The Winnipeg Jets need a big win tonight if the Jets are intending to be a playoff team.
The Jets are tied with the Hurricanes at 20 points each, the Hurricanes are a division / conference opponent and that Jets need to drop them to move up in the conference standings for a playoff spot. Currently the Jets are tied for 12th in the conference, only the top 8 teams make the playoffs.
Zach Bogosian had a teleconference with NHL Brendan Shanahan, whose new title is NHL Senior Vice President of Player Safety and Hockey Operations, and is taking over the job of administering supplemental discipline from Campbell, the NHL’s Senior V.P. of Hockey Operations, who held those responsibilities for 13 years.
The leagueue is question Bogo's hit on the Capital's Cody Easkin - no fine or suspension for Bogo. A video of the play.

Winnipeg Free Press sport's writer Dwayne Lawless on a TSN's Sports "That's Hockey" show gives the jets an F at the 1/4 way mark on the NHL season, from the Winnipeg Free Press "

Who has to step up tonight:
A better game from Evander Kane - seemed to be coasting against the Capitals.

Mark Stuart looked weak against the Capitals.

Alexander Burmistrov needs to sake and be tougher on the boards in his own end.

LESS DUMB PENALTIES!!!!

TV Coverage starts at 6pm cst on TSN Jets

Caps Tough at Home against Jets

The Warshinton Capitals have struggled of late but have a solid home record of 7-1-1. The big question in Washington is who will be sent packing first, coach Bruce Boudreau or superstar forward Alex Ovechkin, seems like Ovechkin and Boudreau and on the same page of late.

The Jets who won three games at home this past week are looking to continue their winning ways. If the Jets get off to a fast skating start, look for Washington to struggle.  Game time 6pm CST on the TSN Jets channel.

Ilya Bryzgalov a Class Act in Winnipeg

Ilya Bryzgalov rolled into WInnipeg knowing that he was clearly on the Jets pipper after comments earlier in the year that he would not want to move to Winnipeg should the Phoenix Coyotes relocatd to Winnipeg.

A article in the Winnipeg Free Press shows a kid with a poster "BOO Bryzgalov", so what does Bryzgalov do, he gives the kid his goal stick.

Nice recovery Ilya.

Wfp article

"Eight-year-old Donavan Collier showed up at the MTS Centre with a Boo Bryzgalov sign aimed at Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov. Bryzgalov spied the sign and on his way off the ice stopped to hand the youngster his goal stick. "

Winnipeg Jets strike on Philadelphia Flyers

After two impressive wins this week, the Jets look to down the Flyers with speed and grit. Will Manitoba native (Winkler) Eric Fehr make his deput will the flying Jets, game time at noon! A lot of Winnipegers love the Flyers from the Flin Flon Bomber days of Bobby Clarke and the Riverton Rifle Reggie Leach.

Jets set to dump the Capitols

The Capitols come into Winnipeg on Thursday night in a inter-division game, expect a fast game. Capitols lead the south-east division at 21 points compared to the Jets 15. Capitals have a monsters playing defence with Jeff Shultz leading the way at 6'6'' 230 pounds., maybe Jeff and Buff will demonstrate the fine art of body checking.

Arturs Kulda plays his second game for the jets as a recent call up from the St. johns Ice Caps. Arturs hail from Latvia and with Winnipeg's large Eastern Europe cultural base, Arturs will feel right at home.  Arturs played well in his first call up game, so expect a second solid game.

Jason Jaffray Joins the Jets

I bet everyone in the Jaffary household is thrilled to see Jason join the Jets for tonights game against the Tampa Bay Lightening.

I'm sure Winnipeg Jets fans are excited to see one of their own Manitoba Moose get the opportunity with the Jets.

JETS lack Jump in Ohio

The Winnipeg Jets turned in another dismal effort in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.
Jets players were constantly reaching for the puck instead of skating and making it happen. You think it was a team that did not know each other as team play was poor.

Sucks to be a Jet fan right now.

Can Jets takeoff after a dud performance in Winnipeb

The Jets were lousy at home against the Florida Panthers! Florida's a good team though everyone expects a sun belt team to play like pussies, the Panthers gave the Jets a free hockey clinic on home ice.

Jet's can't score enough.
